we believe KIDS WILL CHANGE THE WORLD
100cameras works with youth around the world who have had challenging experiences, and we teach them to process and tell their stories through photography in a way that impacts how they view themselves and their role in their community. Through their perspectives and community contributions being uplifted onto a global platform, youth are showing themselves that today and always, they are the bigger picture.
Every kid – no matter their background or circumstances – deserves the right to have access to tools that support them in processing their experiences in a way that creates space for emotional freedom in their future.
At 100cameras, we work worldwide with participants from ages 10-18 who have experienced challenging events as defined by anything that prompts feelings of anxiety, uncertainty, or instability.
1. IN PARTNERSHIP WITH LOCAL LEADERSHIP
We provide two program platforms that utilize the 100cameras custom curriculum in partnership with local leadership:
This model provides in-depth classroom experiences through a custom curriculum in partnership with local organizations and operates as a scholarship programming structure. Upon program completion, student photos are uplifted and sold.
100% of the proceeds from student photo sales fund much-needed supplies, and the organizations in each community determine which medical, educational, or basic needs they need funded the most. (After production, 100% of the proceeds from the student photos sold online equates to a minimum of 90% of each sale)
This enables change to become full circle by enabling students to not only process their stories and express themselves, but to see the impact of their contribution on the community.
This platform is a self-guided, interactive activities workshop designed to meet youth wherever they are with no specific type of camera needed.
Provides turnkey programming to help youth connect with themselves and their surroundings.
A free, online activities resource that supports educators, families, or youth directly.
2. providing AN OUTLET TO PROCESS AND TELL
Our custom curriculum teaches both storytelling and technical photography skills in a way that guides participants through a process of self-discovery and realization of the important role and contribution they have in their surroundings.
Photography is utilized as a gateway to teach confidence, ownership, self-discovery and self-expression, providing a clearing where youth can process and tell the stories of their past and present, with no judgement or expectations in a way that inspires hope for their view of the future.
This is crucial in showing youth firsthand that they are important contributors to their surroundings and that at the core of it all – they matter.
